Make your money work by getting the information you need to make good financial and housing decisions. We have general resources and programs whether you want to ask a question, take a class or learn on your own. Organizations can enroll in existing programs or work with University of Missouri Extension faculty to customize programs to meet their organization's needs.

Housing Programs General Resources

Women’s Financial Education Series a program that gives participants information and tools to improve money management skills, increase financial knowledge and develop confidence in making financial decisions. A five-session workshop.

NEW! Safeguard Your Savings covers the basics of saving and investing for people of all ages-- getting started, financial markets, making an investment plan, and how to avoid investment fraud.

Financial Fitness a series of workshops that help people achieve better financial health.

Money Matters a program that increases participants’ consumer awareness and financial knowledge.

Get Checking a program that helps participants get access to basic financial services, namely checking and savings accounts, whether they’ve had problems in the past and need a second chance or simply have never opened a deposit account.


Home Works helps homeowners maintain their housing investment. Topics include basic home repairs, maintenance and financial management to successfully own a home.

H.O.M.E. explains the home-buying process to prospective homeowners, especially first time home-buyers.

Designing for Diverse Needs provides simple, user-friendly design techniques to participants for use in their homes. The emphasis is on design that fosters health, safety, independence and comfort. These programs help to promote aging in place and designing for disabilities using universal design techniques. These techniques can be applied to all individuals, regardless of age, income or ability.

Rent Smart provides practical training for renters to become successful tenants. Topics include: managing money and credit, finding an apartment, rental agreements, maintenance responsibilities, communicating with landlords and neighbors, and moving.


Missouri Families: Learning Opportunities for Families has valuable information on housing, health, money, aging, food, fitness.

Missouri Saves can help your family meet its financial goals -- save for college, a home or retirement; reduce debt or build an emergency fund.

Energy Star has information to help businesses and consumers find energy efficient solutions that save money and protect the environment.

Healthy Indoor Air for America’s Homes gives comprehensive information to increase consumer awareness and to improve indoor air quality in homes.
