A prevention education program which reinforces basic concepts of prevention education. Teaches skills of self-discipline, responsibility, good judgment, and the ability to get along with others.

KEYS TO PARENTING YOUR FIVE-YEAR-OLD, by Marti White, Ph.D. Book. 1995. A guide to five-year-olds’ cognitive, language, motor social/emotional development and individual personality characteristics as well as what to expect when they start school and begin mastering new challenges.

MAKING A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE: A BOOK OF ENVIRONMENTAL GAMES, by Neil Andre and The Dolphin Defenders. Booklet/Pamphlet. 1993. This is a book of games for 9-12 years olds. The games are intended to help children have fun while they learn more about the environment.

MEDIATION FOR LITTLE PEACEMAKERS: WORKING IT OUT TOGETHER FOR GRADES 3-6, by Max Nass, M.S., and Marcia Nass. Curriculum. 1996. A manual for teachers or others who want to train elementary school students in the art of mediation. Step-by-step framework for training an entire class or group as mediators. The easy-to-follow lessons teach problem solving, active listening, role-playing and brainstorming. "Mediator Rap" song (tape) helps students memorize the script.

PARENTING THROUGH THE MIDDLE SCHOOL YEARS, by Madelyn Swift. Audio. 1998. A guided self-study program for family educators to help parents develop their talents, help with homework, help children through the middle years, and teach teens that with freedom comes responsibility.

PLAYGROUND POLITICS: UNDERSTANDING THE EMOTIONAL LIFE OF YOUR SCHOOL-AGE CHILD, by Stanley I. Greenspan, M.D. Book. 1993. Offers a road map to the stages of normal emotional development of the 5-12 year-old with understanding. Helps parents deal with aggression, self-esteem, learning difficulties, sexuality, reality and fantasy.

This book contains learning activities, games, poems, and recipes, as well as anecdotes and advice.
